Lauren Carlson has the privilege and honor of being a Family Nurse Practitioner for nearly eight years now. As someone working on the front line of America’s healthcare delivery, she sees how serious the burden of chronic disease is on our healthcare system and the many ways that chronic disease affects her patients and their families. Though this can be discouraging and disheartening, her hope rests on the fact that about 80% of chronic diseases can be prevented or reversed with lifestyle modifications. She is interested in helping her patients get closer to this state of holistic wellness, preferably through nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, and good sleep. After completing several rounds of Whole30, she understands how food, as medicine, can positively influence not just our physical health, but our mental and emotional health as well. It is for this reason she is excited to help others on their journey towards a happier and healthier life.
“A healthy lifestyle is just that, a lifestyle. It is a way of life, not a diet or fad. It’s something you do day in and day out. A lifestyle is sustainable, something you can imagine yourself doing for the rest of your life.”
