Alexis Rivera (she/her) is a 2nd generation Filipino Amercian and of Spanish, English, Chinese, and Polynesian decent. She comes from a long line of extraordinary cooks and was taught by her father, titas (aunts), lola (grandmother) and abuelita. Cooking and clean eating has allowed Alexis to reconnect with her many cultures and bond with her family as they find new healthier ways to prep the foods Alexis and her family grew up eating and loving without abandoning their roots.
It has been a mental, emotional and physical journey for Alexis and she truly believes she found healing through food. Whole30 helped end decades of yo-yo dieting and helped manage her anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain. She has been prescription drug free since 2014 thanks to Whole30.
Alexis is also a proud wife and mother of two. She recently returned home to the Bay Area after spending 10 years in radio, film and television in Los Angeles. Her current passion is helping others find their inner power and starting their own journey of self-love and healing. She’s also passionate about promoting diversity and accessibility in health and wellness. Alexis believes that everyone has the right to a better quality of life no matter their background, level of education, or socioeconomic status.
“My philosophy about clean eating is this: Keep it simple. It should just taste good. Taste so good you don’t even realize you’ve cut out the fillers. Find the foods you love, that speaks to your soul and modify them to serve your needs. Honor the ingredients. Honor the seasonal bounty. It’s the ultimate gesture of gratitude and love to the body you were privileged with.”
